Biography

Teenager Brandon Schmidt may have only been road racing for two seasons, but he is fast becoming one to watch after switching to the tarmac following an impressive start to his motorsport career in the world of trials at the age of eight.

A former Trials champion in Austria, Brandon was a podium finisher in his native Germany for several years before he decided to embark on a road racing career during the Coronavirus Pandemic with immediate success following an intensive winter test period ahead of the 2024 season.

Competing in the KTM Junior Cup, he ended the year with a strong fourth place finish rounding out his debut season on the roads a very impressive seventh overall.

He progressed to the ultra-competitive ADAC Junior Cup championship in 2025 and despite an injury at the start of the year he was able to finish on the podium several times on his way to finishing an impressive third overall in the series.

Looking ahead, Brandon is now focused on 2026 where he hopes to line up on the grid in the new look German IDM Championship. Rebranded as Euro Moto, the series now benefits from European Championship status providing an excellent opportunity for those contesting it who have World Championship aspirations. He will race in the Kawasaki ZX6-R Cup category.

Off track Brandon is also fast becoming recognised. Joining FIM Superbike World Championship official speaker and Paddock Show host Michael Hill on stage during the final round of WorldSBK in Jerez, Spain in 2025, Schmidt showed he is an eloquent speaker giving great insight as guest commentator. He has also appeared in various newspapers, magazines and has several podcast appearances in the works as the new season gets underway.
